tanidareal wrote an interesting post about communication through email. She wrote about situations when long email conversations, which starts as a "regular" conversation with salutation, explanations, signature and then turns into short, telegram style messages with lack of emotions and explanations. When it happens she "feels weird sometimes, cause in few conversations I really ask myself if I did something wrong - depending on the content of the conversation".

And, I feel it as well. If we talk about business related emails, I just can say that it's very important to know others' attitude towards your work. One of the best motivation for me, I think, is to see emotions at other face. If I can't see it, I am feels confused too - just start thinking that something is going wrong and it's not depends on my confidence about result.

Otherwise I am always confused when I can't express my attitude towards others work - each of them take a lot of efforts and time and it's really impossible to just reply something like "It's good, what we really need." even I have just no words to comment it. Sometimes in this case I prefer to call people - it's easier than write long and meaningless message.

P.S. It's really difficult to include emotions into business message, sometime just one emoticon in right place can say more than hundreds of words.
